Yes. Users have to explicitly opt-in to join the network and can opt-out at any time. The library provides methods to check their status. The core idea is that since it's their unused Internet bandwidth, users should decide if they want to share it or not.
Privacy is a top priority for Mellowtel. We do not collect, share, or sell personal information (not even anonymized data). Mellowtel requires only a small portion of unused Internet bandwidth. Requests are handled in an incognito tab and every node is assigned a random identification key, not linked to any account.
